Enhancing and Developing Services
V.Investments had a successful year in 2006, confirming its role as a major contributor of profit for the group as well as a source of business for the marine business unit.
Against the backdrop of a weakening dry cargo market, 2007 will be another year of significant change. We are devoting energy towards enhancing the services we currently offer within the commercial and financial sectors as well as developing new services and new relationships. Our focus now is on turning towards new products and new partnerships to add to our portfolio.
In the case of new partnerships, we recognised the importance of India as a fast-growing emerging market with the formation of a joint venture (JV) with India’s Parekh group in April 2006. This relationship will enable us to develop further dry cargo chartering, ship agency and other service business with Indian clients and our intention is to extend the reach of the JV into the Middle East by the end of 2007. |
